More mobile, into everything!
Aleta is climbing up on everything these days. She recently learned how to climb onto kitchen chairs, and now my office chair. It gives her great access to my desk and everything on it. Of course, when I am at my desk, she wants to play on the keyboard, so it's a bit of a challenge.

I've been a little uncertain about letting her have free reign with crayons because not so long ago she tried to eat one (non-toxic of course). Bright green diapers are so interesting. Anyway, I realized that I can actually supervise her use of crayons (or washable markers in this case) and write this blog while she sits on my lap (where she is right now).
Fortunately, the markers do come off of hands and desk surfaces and faces and clothes because it may be awhile before she recognizes drawing boundaries!

Visiting the miniature horses
Dale's Uncle Albert raises miniature horses. He often takes them in parades, and he loves it when people come to visit and go for a ride. Here are some shots from a couple of weeks ago.
Each horse can pull a cart with two people, effortlessly.

Aleta communing with a foal. (I believe this one was born late spring or so).

An adult nuzzling Aleta. She has little fear when it comes to animals, although she wasn't quite sure what to think of this affection! Compared with the photo above, notice how there is not a lot of height difference between the baby and the adult, and all remain close to Aleta's size.

Aleta and Sam are becoming good buddies.
