After Christmas, Dale and I (as well as his dad) managed to catch this nasty flu that has been making the rounds this last few weeks. We almost didn’t make it to Natania Bartlett’s wedding in Calgary, but we realized the morning of the wedding that we could make it. We arrived at the Calgary Zoo just in time for the wedding. Yes, the Calgary Zoo. Not the primate house or the polar bear area, the conservatory. It was quite a lovely environment and an interesting place to wander through with a young baby who needed to get to sleep. The occasional spotlights lit up the large plants, which otherwise were shadows in an eerie, windy darkness. Aleta’s eyes were quite wide, taking in this strange environment. But fatigue prevailed, and she slept through drumming and dancing.
We joined the North Battleford community in this photo. Dale used to live there with Natania's family - her dad is Keith, Dale's good buddy, and a very fine musician.
